En el auditorio de la institución, la Delegación Electoral de Zamora Chinchipe desarrolló la primera instalación de la Mesa Nacional de Seguridad Electoral, para las Elecciones Presidenciales y Legislativas Anticipadas 2023.
En este acto las instituciones de las diferentes carteras del estado conocieron sobre las acciones que el órgano electoral se encuentra ejecutando frente a las diferentes etapas del proceso electoral, así como también los protocolos de seguridad que se aplicarán frente a eventos adversos durante los comicios.
La Mesa de Seguridad Electoral está liderado por el CNE y está conformado por las principales instituciones de respuesta como: Gestión de Riesgos, Ecu911, Policía Nacional, Fuerzas Armadas, Salud, Educación, Justicia, entre otros.
Andersson Silva, director provincial, mencionó que la Mesa de Seguridad es un organismo multidisciplinario que tiene por objeto actuar de manera inmediata ante posibles amenazas o eventos que pongan en riesgo la realización de las elecciones del 20 de agosto de 2023.
Asimismo, las Unidades de Procesos Electores y Participación Política de la institución aprovecharon el espacio para dar a conocer a las autoridades el desarrollo del calendario electoral y el número de candidatos a la Asamblea Provincial.
