La Agencia Nacional de Regulación, Control y Vigilancia Sanitaria (Arcsa), por medio de su Coordinación Zonal 7, verifica que, en establecimientos farmacéuticos de las provincias de El Oro, Loja y Zamora Chinchipe, mantengan un stock de medicamentos genéricos, de conformidad con la normativa sanitaria.
Los medicamentos genéricos son aquellos que se registran y comercializan con la Denominación Común Internacional (DCI) del principio activo, propuesta por la Organización Mundial de la Salud; o en su ausencia, con una denominación genérica convencional reconocida internacionalmente.
Estos medicamentos deben mantener los niveles de calidad, seguridad y eficacia requeridos para los de marca.
En los controles realizados por los equipos técnicos de Arcsa, se revisa el cumplimiento del Art. 14 de la Resolución ARCSA-DE-2022-012-AKRG, “Normativa Técnica para el Funcionamiento de Farmacias y Botiquines Privados”, el cual establece que las farmacias privadas deben mantener un stock permanente de medicamentos genéricos, conforme a las necesidades de salud de la población del sector en donde se encuentra ubicada la farmacia privada.
Así también, se realiza el control posregistro de estos productos, a través de los cuales se permitirá garantizar su calidad y seguridad para el consumo de la población.
